The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an award that was created in 1956 in the UK by Her Majesty the Queen's husband, HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Its mission is to positively influence the lives of America's youth by inspiring youth to grow and achieve. This past year the organization formed a strategic partnership with the Miss America Organization. For more information about the award please go to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
The award is broken into four sections Community Service, Special Skills, Physical Recreation, and Adventurous Journey. Each section has a different set of requirements. All in all it takes about a year to complete. To view all of the requirements please click on the The Duke of Endinburgh's Award Requirements. We wish all the young women the best of luck in their endeavor.
