Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler Visits Her First Children's Hospital This Year

As her first official appearance of the year, Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler visited her first children's hospital of the year on Monday with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Phoenix.

She spent the afternoon at Phoenix Children's Hospital going room to room talking with patients and helping them do crafts.

At the end of the visit, Laura and Desert Schools presented a check for over $360,000. The money will go to the learning center at the hospital, named "One Darn Cool School.”

Children’s Miracle Network is the official platform of the Miss America Organization.  Miss America serves as the goodwill ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, speaking on behalf of kids treated at children’s hospitals and raising awareness around the country.

Our partnership extends to the woman competing at the local, state and national levels of the Miss America Organization and since our partnership began in 2006, over $6 million has been raised for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
