Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler To Perform at the Centennial Celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C.

Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler will perform at one of Washington D.C's fondest traditions, the Centennial Celebration Parade of the National Cherry Blossom Festival this Saturday, April 14. The parade march travels along Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets NW, passing the Washington Monument and The White House. For the first time, the parade will be nationally syndicated!*

Laura will be among the celebrities to greet over 100,000 spectators. Loved by all ages, this parade is in its 100th year and celebrates the 3,000 Cherry Trees in full bloom that were a gift to the people of Washington from Tokyo in 1912.
Laura will be accompanied by Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2012 Elizabeth Fechtel. Laura will be singing "God Bless America" while Elizabeth dances to the song. Also accompanying Laura and Elizabeth in the parade are Miss America state titleholders: Miss Alabama 2011 Courtney Porter, Miss Connecticut 2011 Morgan Amarone, Miss District of Columbia 2011 Ashley Boalch, Miss Delaware 2011 Maria Cahill, Miss Florida 2011 Kristina Janolo, Miss Maine 2011 Julia Furtado, Miss Vermont 2011 Katie Levasseur Miss Wyoming 2011 Catherine Brown; and Miss America's Outstanding Teen state titleholders: Miss District of Columbia's Outstanding Teen 2011 Lauren Alexa Kekailani Seely, Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen 2011 Rachel Strever, Miss New Hampshire's Outstanding Teen 2011 Lauren Percy, Miss Vermont's Outstanding Teen 2011 Sophia Hedeka, and Miss West Virginia's Outstanding Teen 2011 Isabel Raese.

Giant inflatable balloons, marching bands, and performers will burst down Constitution Avenue in an energy-filled spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

The 2012 Parade of the National Cherry Blossom Festival will be broadcast on ABC7 (WJLA) and NewsChannel 8 in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EST.*  It will also be nationally syndicated to markets throughout the country.
