The Class of 2013 Debuts in Florida forthe Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant!

This past week, 53 amazing and beautiful women gathered in the sunshine state to show their support for Miss America’s Outstanding Teen! The calendar was filled with exciting photo shoots and filming opportunities to showcase our Miss America contestants meeting for the very first time.

The contestants’ first official event began on Wednesday evening at the second night of preliminary competition for MAOTeen. On this special evening, Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler performed and stepped into the spotlight as she helped to co-host the MAOTeen Competition.

Then, bright and early Thursday morning, the contestants filmed with national sponsors, and that evening, Miss Florida’s State Executive Director, Mary Sullivan and our two very gracious sponsors, David Lang and Carry O’Neal from Regalia Magnificent Apparel, hosted an elegant, private dinner at Maggiano’s. Our contestants had the opportunity to get to know one another while enjoying a delicious dinner of signature Italian dishes prepared especially for them.

The Class of 2013 made some Disney Memories of their own at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World on Friday, where they toured the attractions and enjoyed the thrills of the world-famous parks' most magical rides. Special highlights included Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Haunted Mansion and so many more.  The contestants had an incredible time making new memories and creating new friendships.

Finally, on Saturday evening, the contestants gathered for an autograph session that was open to the public. The crowning event of the week was when Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2013 was announced. The title was awarded to a very special young woman from South Carolina, Rachel Yuki Wyatt.

The Miss America Organization sincerely thanks all of our supporters, our sponsors, the MAOTeen Organization, our State Executive Directors and our beautiful contestants for making this trip to Orlando so memorable.

They will meet again for the 2013 Miss America Competition at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas Saturday, January 12th broadcast live on ABC.  We wish our contestants the very best as they prepare for their wonderful journey to the 2013 Miss America Competition.
